Τοὺς μαργάρους σου τῶν λόγων χρυσοῖς λόγοις,
κεραννύων ἄριστα περιπλέκων,
Χριστοῦ μαθητά, σὸς μαθητὴς εἰκότως
ἔδειξε πολλῷ μᾶλλον εὐπρεπεστέρους
ἄρρητον ὥραν, ἡδονὴν ψυχῶν ξένην
νύμφης τε Χριστοῦ κάλλος οὐκ ἔχον κόρον·
οὓς καὶ ποθήσας σὸς λάτρης Κωνσταντῖνος
λήθην τε νικᾶν καὶ χρόνου φθορὰν θέλων
εἰς τοῦτο καινὸν ἐγχαράττει βιβλίον
τοῖς εὐσεβοῦσι πρᾶγμα μυρίου πόθου.
