	Βροντῶν τὰ θεῖα τῇ βοῇ τῶν δογμάτων
	ἤχησας ὄντως τὴν ὑπ' οὐρανόν, μάκαρ˙
	καὶ πάσας ἀπρὶξ μαράνας τὰς αἱρέσεις
	τὸν κόσμον ἐστήριξας ἐν τοῖς σοῖς λόγοις.
	Πηγὴν ἄληκτον παγχρύσων λόγων βλύσας
	ὅλην κατάρδεις τὴν ὑφήλιον, μάκαρ˙
	θύρας δ' ἀνοίγων τοῖς βροτοῖς σωτηρίας
	εἰς οὐρανοὺς τὸν κόσμον ἐκπέμπεις ὅλον.
	Ἤστραψας αἴγλῃ τοῦ φαεινοῦ σου βίου,
	καί φαιδρύνεις τὸν κόσμον ἔργοις καὶ λόγοις˙
	λαβὼν δὲ τὰς κλεῖς κ' αὐτὸς ὡς Πέτρος νέος
	φύλαξ ὑπάρχεις τῆς πάσης ἐκκλησίας.

Comment	This poem is a combination of three poems of Theodoros Stoudites (poems 67-72-66), of which in fact only the first is a poem on Gregory (the two others on John Chrysostom and Basil the Great) Lauxtermann (2003: 171): The epigram alludes to certain Biblical passages: for τὴν ὑπ' οὐρανόν; see Luke 17:24; for μωράνας, see Paul, 1 Cor. 1:20; and for τὸν κόσμον ἐστήριξας, see the beginning of the book Genesis'. See also the hymn on St. Gregory by Theodore of Stoudios, incipit: 'Τὰ σοφώτατα τῆς φλογερῆς σου γλώττης ἔπη'. 1-4: 5-8: 9-12:
