| Comment | The first verse is metrically problematic as the paenultima is spondaic in this edition. On this issue, see Valerio (2013: 199-202): "Si osserverà allora che, negli esametri dei poeti del Ciclo, la successione di spondei non è affatto un tabù, come non lo è il quinto piede spondiaco. (...) esso è a mio avviso egualmente difendibile, qualora venga contestualizzato nella prassi metrica agaziana che, a confronto di quella degli altri poeti ciclici, appare in generale ancora più libera." |
