	Γίνωσκε μετρεῖν τοὺς ἰαμβείους στίχους·
	ὥσπερ μαθήσῃ παρ’ ἐμοῦ, νεανία·
	πρῶτον τρίτον· πέμπτον τε φημὶ τοὺς πόδας,
	ἴαμβον ἢ σπονδεῖον ἐντίθη φίλος·
	τὸν δεύτερον δ’ αὖ σὺν τετάρτῳ τοὺς δύο
	μόνοις ἰάμβοις ἀσφαλῶς ἀεὶ πλέκε·
	ἕκτος δέ σοι ποῦς ἐξ ἰαμβείου μόνον
	ἢ πυρριχίου τὴν πλοκὴν λαμβανέτω.
